Bermuda Coat of Arms
The coat of arms of Bermuda features a lion holding a shield that depicts a shipwreck. The red lion represents England. The ship is representative of Sea Venture, which was driven unto the reefs of Bermuda by Admiral Sir George Somers in 1609 to prevent it from being sunk in a storm. The survivors settled on the island. A scroll below the shield features the national Latin motto Quo Fata Ferunt, which means "Whither the Fates Carry"[1].

Bermuda Flag
The flag of Bermuda is a red field with a Union Jack located in its canton. It features the Bermuda coat of arms in the lower left corner. It was adopted on October 4, 1910. It is unusual because most former British colonies used a blue ensign, not a red ensign[2].
