Captain Scott's Flag
Captain William Scott, the leader of a group of volunteers from Lynchburg, Texas, hired an Italian immigrant to paint this design on a blue silk flag. It features a lone white star and the word "INDEPENDENCE", as his company of 30 men wanted independence from Mexico and fought in the Texan Revolution[1].
