Cross of Burgundy Flag
The Cross of Burgundy is a red saltire. It features a diagonal red knotted cross on a white field. It was used by Spain between 1506-1701 as a naval ensign and up to 1843 as a battle flag. It was chosen by Philip the Handsome of Burgundy after his marriage to Joanna of Castile, as it was the symbol of the house of his mother, Mary of Burgundy[1].
