The shield is supported by a deer and a moose. The crest is a black bear standing on a gold and green wreath.
A motto at the bottom reads "Ut incepit Fidelis sic permanet", meaning "Loyal she began, loyal she remains".
The arms were granted by Queen Victoria on May 26, 1868, with the supporters being added by King Edward VII on February 27, 1909[1].
